Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and songwriter. Her family was home-schooled by her mother, in the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist remarks and made to feel unwanted. When she was in 9th grade she started to feel more comfortable after she was applauded by her teachers when she sang at the school's audition. She not only gained confidence through the audition and gained experience, but also changed her career goals. She graduated from New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she appeared in the character of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway production of Spamalot receiving not just the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. The following year she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. As a professional singer, she's also produced songs as well as an extended work. She is also an activist and works extensively for LGBT rights.
